Are you wondering: Should I use my kid’s pictures on my blog? Well, if you want to share your kiddo’s photos in your blog posts, there are a lot of ways to safely do this. I know that a lot of times we have a great post to share and it can only be told through pictures, but many of us worry about the safety of using their pictures.
I am going to share a few tips that will help you to be extra-cautious when sharing your kiddo’s wonderful pictures on your blog, for your readers. I hope that this helps you and I would LOVE your tips, as well. Leave them in the comments section below.
1- Put a disclaimer on your blog that states that no one is permitted to use their photos without your permission.
2- Edit your photo and add a very faded word or words over their bodies/faces. I first saw this on Paula’s blog & loved the idea! Here is an example with my son. This makes it hard to just “crop out” my blog name at the bottom (although I still include one there). They would have to crop out most of his face to avoid seeing the name there. Now no one can use his picture on their blog unless they don’t mind the words on his face.
3- Don’t share their names if you don’t want to give out too much info. You can give them “fake” names. I know some blogging friends that let their kid’s pick out their “blog names”.
4- Blur their faces easily with one of the editing pages
5- Don’t include faces at all, if you are worried about it. You can post pictures with just part of their faces in them or just their hands or feet or the back of them.
If it worries you, even a bit, just don’t use them. You can get your point across with other images.
Leave your ideas below- we are all learning from each other!
