The blogging world is a whole new world. You meet people that you may never have met and you have real relationships. I have been very blessed by my group of online blogging friends. Supporting other bloggers has become our second nature.
I have many blogging friends, but I thought it would be easiest to just talk about the one that you know here, Paula.
These are a couple of my best blogging friends and I put her blog (Beauty Through Imperfection) right up there with mine (Your Modern Family), as far as importance goes.
So, what does that mean?
That means that if I see an opportunity that would be good for ME, I share it with THEM, too. I share their posts, pin their pins, retweet their tweets. Paula will send me money-making opportunities that she can’t do on her blog and I will do the same for her. Danielle will invite Paula & I to take-part in opportunities that others aren’t doing and we do the same. I will share Paula’s best baby gift idea from a big sibling on my blog when I talk about having our kids. Sharing and helping is never one-sided.
I want them to do GREAT.
I am SO EXCITED when they do well! Just this week, I texted Paula to tell her that she needs to do a “part two” to a ‘kids’ post that has gone viral, so that I can add it at the bottom and send my traffic her way.
PS- In the same day, she sent me a message that said “Make sure to post about your kids waking up too early post today. I think it would do well with the time change!” It doesn’t benefit her at all, but she just wanted to help.
So, an example: Say that my ‘earn more money’ post here is doing really well or that my How to be a Stay at home Mom on One Income post is doing really well. I will message her and suggest that they do a part 2 on her blog. Then, I will write at the bottom of my original post “To see Day 2 of this, hop over to Beauty Through Imperfection and I write a part 3 on my blog too. We will link to each other’s posts. Just like that, we both get my traffic.
We back each other up and help each other.
We really want the other ones to do well. There isn’t any competition. I will write to one of the other girls with a killer idea that I think might be a better fit on their blog. I know that it would do well on mine, but I think it could go viral on theirs, so I tell them about it because I want them to succeed just as much as I want to. I want their blog to do as well as I want mine to do.
We critique each other.
The other great aspect of this is that we can tell each other what needs improved on each others blogs. If we think a color doesn’t look good or a word sounds funny, we can help each other. We often send each other articles to proof-read before we post them. We share pictures and say “how can I improve this?”
The best part? I really like these girls!! I have found some life-long friends through blogging.
It is important to have this support team in place. I have SEVERAL blogging friends that I share this with and I would really do whatever I can to help them and they are always helping me, as well. What an amazing feeling to know that God has brought you together in this way! I even have friends in other countries. How amazing!
When we decided to start this blog, it was the same way. I knew that they were the perfect fit and that the three of us would be a great team! You can only really start a blog with people that you trust and I trust these girls.
If you don’t have this yet, try to find a blogger that you really love & support and email her about how you can work together to help BOTH of your blogs grow. You will love helping each other. You could even start up a private Facebook group to share things.
Who are your best blogging friends? Do you think you would have been friends if you had met in “real life” and not “online”? I feel that with our BOTS page- it is a great group of readers and I feel like we are all here because we have our priorities straight and we want to help each other. We are sharing what works for us because we REALLY WANT your blog to do well. We really do want to see you and your family benefit from information that we can share. I hope that you can feel that, too!
