It is so important to share your content and know where to share your content. Am I saying that loud enough… share your content! I know that some people feel bad about sharing their stuff. I know that one blogger actually quit her blog because she didn’t want to have to share her own stuff. My thought is that if you share it, it will be seen by a handful of people, then they tell a handful of friends, etc… You want to put it in front of them.
So… where to share?
Facebook
Facebook is really for just about anything. They are perfect for images and memes. They are great for vidoes. They are wonderful for inspirational stories! When I share an inspirational story on Pinterest, it gets a few repins, but share it on Facebook and watch out. It just does so much better! Some ideas here: Parenting, Humor, Fun ideas, Hacks
Pinterest
I LOVE Pinterest! I share everything on Pinterest. I find that the things that do best, however, are more DIY, household tips, recipes, inspirational quotes, etc… It is going beyond that, but those are still the hot topics. I also find that many more women are on Pinterest than men (not to say that you can’t still reach them, just that it is populated by mostly women). That is just something to think about when you share your posts.
Twitter
Twitter is great for short, quick, to-the-point messages. I love to add a great picture to my tweet because they do much better! Twitter is great for getting clicks to certain promotions you have going on, such as a sale or giveaway, because you can tweet it several times throughout the day.
Tumblr
Tumblr is one that is very image friendly – you want to showcase something that makes them want to stop and say “Hmm… I need to do/make/buy/create that.” This would be a great place to showcase great recipes and DIY ideas!
Instagram
Oh how I have learned to love Instagram! It is just fun and lets our readers in on what’s going on in our lives. If you use it just for your blog, you do have to add a link in there that they will copy and paste into their browser, or link to something in your profile page. It doesn’t offer clickable links, but I would love it even more if it did! (Instagram developers… listen up!)
YouTube
YouTube is the second highest search engine! Try using YouTube to promote some of your more popular posts or products. Keep it short- try staying under a minute. Give them some advice or a quick tip and that’s all they need (watch out for a lengthy intro… you will lost people in that first 5 seconds if your intro is too long)
Vine or Periscope
These are both run by Twitter. They let you create videos. So Vine lets you create a six-second video while Periscope lets you have live videos that are deleted 24 hours later. We currently love Periscope (find us at Biz2Blogger)
No matter where you share, remember that your readers love what you write. Stick to your voice and share it in several places. You have to be your biggest advocate. Believe that it has worth. It is valuable. It is helpful! Your content is worth reading.
