I wanted to share a few different Pinterest plugins, because I have had so much trouble finding one for my blog, Your Modern Family. It is a WordPress site, just like Blogging on the side so there were just so many to choose from, but I have only found two that I love!
1- Pin it button under images: Pinterest Image Pin
This is my favorite plugin because it invites your readers to pin images from all over your page. The idea is right in front of them throughout the whole post, literally. The reason that I think this is a good thing is because often I will like an idea, but I won’t read all the way to the bottom of a page or I will be ready to move onto the next thing (online) without taking the time to share the page using the share buttons at the bottom or on the side (for the record, I like Digg Digg and Easy Share for that).
When I see a “pin it” button there, ready for me, I think “Oh- I bet everyone will like this.” I had a hover button before. It would show a Pin It button when someone would hover over an image. The reason that I changed is because I know that BEFORE I was a blogger, I never would have known to hover over an image to see a Pin-it button appear. I just looked for it right on the page. If it wasn’t there, I just didn’t share it.
Here is a screenshot of this plugin on Your Modern Family : (Look at the PIN IT right below the picture). This looks the same on every picture on my blog.
Another great one is the Pinterest Follow Button
I love this one because it does what we want- encourages readers to follow us on Pinterest. I would have this towards the top of your page. Pinterest is such a great way to share your best ideas! I use it constantly! I pin my favorite ideas from my blog and any others that I find. I feel like it is just a quick way to share with the world.
Which Pinterest plugin do you use & what pros/cons do you have? Our readers would love to hear!
