Why aren’t my Facebook Fans reading my blog?
Are there times where you feel like your Facebook fans aren’t necessarily reading your blog? It can be frustrating and make you wonder why they aren’t following you?
Before I share my tips that I have found to work, I wanted to let you know that even if they aren’t coming to your blog, they are listening (or else they wouldn’t be a facebook fan).
There are times when I post my recipe right on my FB page (with a link in the comments so that when it is shared, they can find my URL). I want my readers to come to my blog, but I am grateful that they are reading on my FB page, as well.
While these tips won’t make every reader come to your page, I hope that they help. I want them to be able to use the tips that I am sharing for their own families or homes. Here are the top 3 reasons that you might NOT getting readers to your page.
1- You are not adding a picture with your Facebook page posts (even with the link- sometimes it doesn’t come up automatically). If you have a new post to put up, use your featured image from your blog to showcase it on your facebook page. (See my examples on our Facebook Page. ) *****YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A URL LINK IN THE COMMENTS OR YOUR PICTURE WILL NOT HAVE A URL ATTACHED if they share it. ****
2- Do you have a website URL listed under your profile picture in the about section.
You need to have this in your about section on your Facebook page and you need to have it listed so that you see it first. See our Blogging on the Side Facebook Page, to see what I mean. I rely on this when I go to a Facebook page and want to find out more about them or their blog- it is so much easier than searching for the blog via search engine if you are already on the FB page.
3- Are you asking questions pertaining to your upcoming post before you post it?
Get your readers excited! If I am going to post about the latest & greatest e-book that I just wrote, I will lead up to it by posting the day before about it and then posting about 5 hours before my post is released: “Wow- wait until you check out my new e-book post!” (I schedule these early in the day so that I am not getting onto facebook all day long). Schedule them through facebook, not through another source. Facebook frowns upon posting from other sites. (Your posts just wont reach as many people). While I’m at it- another tip is to have your link in your comments, instead of right there in the status. Your post will reach more people.
How do you bring your readers from Facebook to your blog? We all learn from each other, so share your tips if you have some! Thanks!
